Proposal for Thursday’s GA, 2/8/12

Situation:
Our generator has had an estimate for repairs, and it will be $200 to ‘fix’ it; however, it is likely only worth about that much. Many feel that this might not be the best option. There was a $25 estimate charge that is being incurred, as we weren’t able to get this done for free after requesting. We have a generator onsite that is smaller than the broken one, and it seems to be supplying most of our needs. This smaller generator does not belong to Occupy KC, and will need to be returned. Treasury has requested feedback, input, and suggestions from Town Planning. The two workgroups have not yet decided what generator would be a good option yet.

Proposal:
Treasury proposes that Occupy KC release claim to the broken generator to hopefully avoid anyone having to pay the $25 as it does not appear that the broken generator is worth repairs, and that we set aside up to $250 for the purchase of a smaller generator to be selected jointly by representatives of the Town Planning and Treasury work groups within the next week in order to 1) Maintain power generation capabilities at the encampment and 2) allow the borrowed generator to be returned to it’s owner.
